Prabhu lived with his maternal uncle who was a daily wage laborer in a welding shop because he had lost his parents. Prabhu was quite studious from the beginning and was a regular topper in school. He not only topped in his school but became a district topper in his plus two examinations.
Prabhu had great ambitions for himself but his maternal uncle could not afford to support him considering his own financial situation.Prabhu had almost lost hopes on his dreams when volunteers from Anandham recognized his difficulties and offered him full financial assistance to continue his higher education.
Today, Prabhu is a successful IT consultant with Infosys. Apart from achieving his dreams, he supports his uncle and regularly volunteers at Anandham to give back to society. His story has become a source of inspiration to many of our students.
Jothilakshmi was a highly studious and ambitious girl who always wanted to provide for her family. Her father passed away a year ago due to ill health and her mother was left to fend for the entire family. Although getting an education was difficult for her, Jothilakshmi was determined and found a part time job. She then successfully complete her plus two with 1054 marks.
Getting into college was another challenge that she was losing hope on. She continued at her part-time job when Anandham recognized her needs and provided funds for her join a B.Com program in Kumbakonam.
Upon graduation, she got a job at Cavinkare, a leading FMCG company, with a good salary. She was recently applauded by the senior management for her efficiency, which she attributes to the training programs that Anandham provided. Her ambitions to support her family finally came true because of Anandham.
Hello Hemalatha, we are calling from IBM and we are glad to inform you that you have been selected in IBM. Hema was stunned when she heard this and found tears rolling down her cheeks. Few years ago, her higher education was doubtful as she didn’t have Rs. 500 to buy an engineering application form.
Her dream of getting a good job and supporting her family was almost crushed. Hema was in born in Thirumanoor village. Her father was physically incapable of working and her mother had two milk-rearing cows, which was the only source of income for the family of five. Despite the difficulties, she continued her education and scored 1104 marks.
Since her family could not support her higher education aspirations, Anandham stepped in. Today, she is a confident young woman taking care of her entire family, while inspiring the next generation. She regularly volunteers at Anandham and also mentors junior students.
