Our Student selection process

Anandham adheres to a strict selection process to ensure our donor’s contributions reach only the highly deserving economically poor students. All our students are selected through a 5-step filtration process
Communication to all government schools in selective districts
Reviewing received applications and two rounds of telephonic verification
Surprise spot visits to student home
Final Face to face interview at Chennai
Offering 100% scholarship

Selection Criteria

At our foundation, we have simple yet strict selection criteria in place. This helps us ensure that we choose deserving students
Our selection criteria are based on the following:
  • Students with the best marks, and hail from a poor economic background
  • Orphaned students
  • Students who have single parents
  • Students whose parents are alive but are immobilized to earn or support their families
  • Students who studied in Government/Government aided schools or by financial aid
  • Students who are the first graduates in their family

Here’s how we select our deserving students

Initiation process

We request schools to nominate two of their top-performing students, who are financially struggling yet have the passion to study further.

Reviewing applications

We ensure that we have the right stringent processes in place to review all the applications so that we don’t miss out on the truly deserving students. At Anandham, hundreds of volunteers put in their valuable time and efforts of two rounds of telephonic verifications. Their recommendations are reviewed by the selection committee and they select the first list of deserving candidates.

Informal student visits

Our volunteers conduct field visits to confirm the socio-economic status of the students and determine whether the candidates truly deserve and have the passion to study further and make the sponsorships more valuable to our donors.

Final selection

As soon as the candidates successfully pass these stringent processes, and their credentials are thoroughly checked. Our field volunteers submit their final reports to the selection committee. We invite the candidates in the pre-final list for a final face-to-face interview in Chennai. We hold the interview that has the attendance of a larger community of well-wishers including donors, mentors, and other socially responsible citizens. Our foundation offers 100% scholarship, to the selected students to pursue their educational dreams.
