Her father, Rajamanikam, toiled day in and day out as a daily laborer, earning a meager income of Rs.200 per day. Yet, this modest income often found its way to the local arrack shop, leaving the family in perpetual hardship. The household, consisting of Rajamanikam, his wife, their daughter Divya, Divya’s sister, Grandpa, and Grandma, resided in a tiny thatched house barely 10×10 in size. The roof, worn by time, allowed rainwater to seep in during heavy downpours, forcing the family to huddle together in a corner for shelter.
Despite the financial struggles, they owned a small piece of agricultural land, which Rajamanikam eventually sold to explore business opportunities. However, his venture to Dubai resulted in a debt that burdened the family even further. Their sole sources of income were a milking cow and five sheep, the meager earnings from which sustained their basic needs. Luxury was a foreign concept; even a three-time meal was often a distant dream, with simple rice kanji becoming their staple.
Amidst these challenges, Divya’s determination remained unshaken. She held steadfast to her studies, and her efforts bore fruit as she scored an impressive 476 marks in her 10th-grade exams. Her academic brilliance continued to shine through as she secured 1088 marks in her +2 exams, becoming the school topper.
The family rejoiced in Divya’s achievements, and despite their financial constraints, her mother sold their precious cow to gather Rs.4000 for Divya’s education. Additionally, they borrowed Rs.20,000 to support her higher studies. Unbeknownst to them, Divya’s aspiration to pursue computer engineering required much more.
Divya’s unwavering commitment led her to the attention of the Anandham Foundation, who recognized her potential and extended their support. With a CTC of 19 lakhs, she was now working at Cognizant, a symbol of her triumphant journey from a tiny thatched house to the corporate world.

From Struggles to Success: The Inspiring Journey of Dr. Kumar Raja
In the heart of the Thiruvarur district in the village of Vellakudi, a young boy named Kumar Raja born in a poor farmer’s family. Kumar Raja’s story will be a best example for the great success for the brilliant student.
Kumar Raja’s journey began with humble beginnings. His family, dependent on his father’s income from a peach of farming land and daily wages in the others farming land, knew the value of education but faced challenges in providing the necessary resources. Despite these odds, Kumar Raja excelled in his studies and secured an impressive score of 473 out of 500 in his 10th-grade board exams.

A turning point in Kumar Raja’s journey arrived in the form of “ Anandham Youth Foundation”. Kumar Raja’s journey reached its pinnacle when he emerged victorious in the government exams and secured a coveted position as a government doctor in Nagapatinam. Sowndharya born and brought up from a small town of Sambanarkoil in the Mayiladuthurai district. Her father is an ironing worker, and her mother was a dedicated homemaker. With an elder sister enrolled in the nearby government college. When Sowndarya completed her 12th grade, her family’s economy was in a very pathetic condition where having three meal itself a much difficult task, education becoming day dream for her.
In the midst of these difficulties, at the end of the tunnel there is a little lamp and scope. She came to know about Anandham. She applied to Anandham with great faith and trust. Following a rigorous interview process, spanning three levels of meticulous evaluations, Sowndharya emerged as one of the chosen few to be welcomed into the family of Anandham.
The news ignited a spark of joy in her heart, and she embarked on a journey that would change her life. Enrolling in AVC College, Sowndharya pursued her passion for B.Sc in Mathematics. She not only stopped her success there but aspired to conquer the TNPSC exam, she dedicated herself to rigorous studies.
However, hurdles still persisted. Sowndharya started her career with a fear of public speaking and an underlying lack of self-confidence. This is where Anandham’s life skills program entered the scene, as a beacon of transformation. Slowly but surely, she started building her confidence, finding her voice, and honing her focus towards her ultimate goal.
Upon the completion of her degree, Sowndharya channelled her energies into TNPSC exam preparation with unwavering resolve. The moment that had once seemed a distant dream arrived with a single letter – Sowndharya has been selected as a typist in the Mayiladuthurai district. The news flooded her heart with elation, mirrored by her mother’s tears of joy.
Without hesitation, she completed the necessary formalities and then, as if propelled by an invisible force, she made her way to the Anandham office. The visit was a testament to the monumental change education had brought about in her life. The scene was emotionally charged, with her mother’s tears expressing gratitude for the transformation that had unfolded.
